Ms. Ligabue was my first Contessa Almaviva when the Rome Opera brought their gorgeous Luchino Visconti NOZZE DI FIGARO to the Met in 1968; Carlo Maria Giulini was the conductor. The program, signed by Ms. Ligabue, Rolando Panerai, and Maestro Giulini, is one of my treasures. And did you notice who my Count Almaviva was?
