Tchaikovsky's EUGENE ONEGIN works well in Italian. Listen here.
Very interesting cast, headed by Virginia Zeani and Nicola Rossi-Lemeni (who were real-life husband and wife) and further including tenor Franco Tagliavini (who I saw as Turiddu at The Met), Anna Maria Rota (Maddalena on the Peters-Bjorling-Merrill RIGOLETTO) and basso Plinio Clabassi (Alvise on the Milanov-di Stefano GIOCONDA).
The performance dates from 1965, with Lorin Maazel conducting the orchestra and chorus of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
