ViVa is a collaboration between Miami City Ballet and the Paul Taylor Dance Company, created during the pandemic. At a time when dance companies have been unable to give live performances, Lourdes Lopez of MCB and Michael Novak of PTDC have united to bring us this imaginative film.
Choreographed by Amy Hall Garner to an excerpt from Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for 4 Violins in B-Minor, ViVa features dancers Samantha Hope Galler of Miami City Ballet and John Harnage of the Paul Taylor Dance Company. The film-maker and Creative Director is Alexander Iziliaev, who previously danced with New York City Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet.
The Vivaldi music is irresistible as ViVa takes us from a costume salon in Miami to a New York City rooftop. Watch and enjoy this vibrant dancework here.
