In 2013, Mr. Villazón sang Lenski at The Met, one of the great successes of his "second career". Read about it here. To date, the 2013 run of ONEGIN were the tenor's last appearances at The Met. These days, he is concentrating on directing productions in Europe.
Update: Mr. Villazón is now listed on the Metropolitan Opera's 2021-2022 season for performances as Papageno in Mozart's MAGIC FLUTE.
