Former New York City Ballet corpsman Vincent Paradiso (above) introduces du+ch, a community marketplace to plan, share, and pay for group experiences and activities with others.
Visit the website here. Create a profile, explore the events on offer, or list a new event.
I had lunch with Vincent the other day and he enthused about du+ch, which has been in the development stages for about 18 months. The site has now gone live, and Vincent describes the concept as "...going dutch on a grand scale."
du+ch allows individuals to search for upcoming group travel opportunities, sporting and cultural events, parties and social gatherings where cost-sharing will be beneficial. Vincent said: "You will know who you're about to share an experience with, and pool your money together easily to pay for that experience."
Those hosting an event or organizing an activity will post the information on du+ch, inviting prospective participants worldwide. "With du+ch, if you're an individual who has something you want to do with others, you can list it on du+ch," said Vincent. "If you're a small business hosting a group activity or package, you don't have to build the next uber, or post on Instagram and hope people call you and pay a share. You can list it on du+ch and get exposure to anyone who is searching. You're in control and everyone pays their share ahead of time through the site."
Participants in a given event or activity can communicate with others taking part, then pay their share to join. du+ch holds all the funds collected, and releases them to the host once the event takes place.
