It's always a pleasant experience to sort thru the pictures Kokyat sends me after we've been on a visit to a dance studio. But it also poses the dilemma of which images will go onto my blog. From our recent experience of watching Jennifer Muller/THE WORKS rehearsing THE WHITE ROOM Kokyat produced a very dramatic series of photographs and to be honest I wanted to use all of them. But I've narrowed it down a bit and here is a second gallery from this vivid new Jennifer Muller work-in-progress. In the top photo, Hsing-Hua Wang (a Company apprentice) and Duane Gosa.

All photography by Kokyat, with my gratitude to him as always. We are very grateful to have been invited to watch Jennifer Muller's creative process at close range; our thanks to her, her staff and especially to her extraordinary dancers who turned a rehearsal into a veritable performance thru the power and beauty of their personalities.
Your usual superb coverage, Philip. And Kokyat's work is simply marvelous. How I wish I still lived in New York so I could see all these things you write about.
Thanks to you and Kokyat, I still feel connected.

The first photo in this set is so interesting. The pools of light at the back and the dark, sinister figures of the dancers give an unusual contrast.
