Carling Talcott of the Royal Danish Ballet has graciously loaned me one of her photographs from the NUTCRACKER production there, where it is known as Nøddeknækkeren.
I kind of like the fantasy-look of this photograph, with the gigantic mirror image. Not sure about the big bunny, though. It's my understanding that the production is in its final performances, having premiered in 2007. Eva Kistrup wrote about it here at the time it opened.
Here in New York City we will be seeing a new production of the Tchaikovsky Christmas classic when Alexei Ratmansky's version is unveiled by ABT next Winter at BAM. Tonya Plank covered the announcement here.
Whoa--I'm similarly unsure about the Large and Far-Too-Happy Bunny. Can you imagine dancing with all those oblique mirrors? I get vertigo just thinking of it.

I hadn't considered what it would be like to dance on that set, Lauren, but you are right...very disorienting, I would think.
