Images of Buddha

Here are some of the many depictions of Buddha to be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's extraordinary collection. I can't tell you how many times over the years I have walked thru these galleries without taking more than a passing interest in these works. Our recent visit was an eye-opener on many counts; being there with a photographer really made me view things with greater concentration.

There are so many magnificent depictions of Buddha to be seen at the Met. Here are five that I found especially beautiful, each with its respective descriptive plaque:
