Thursday October 16, 2008 - Two of the dancers who have made particularly vibrant impressions during San Francisco Ballet's 75th anniversary season at City Center will be dancing in tonight's programme: Sofiane Sylve will dance Choleric in Balanchine's FOUR TEMPERAMENTS and Anthony Spaulding will dance the 3rd Theme in the same ballet. Both dancers were spectacular in Val Caniparoli's IBSEN'S HOUSE (see next item below) and are slated to reprise those roles on Friday 10/17. I've got a bad case of SFB fever and so I am very grateful to Tonya for inviting me to see a fourth performance on Saturday afternoon.
I did not know that Sylve had joined the San Francisco Ballet. I'm glad I happened to find your blog. I am in town for a few days and should be able to see her tonight and tomorrow. She used to be with the City Ballet. When did she leave?

Hi Nina,
Sofiane left NYC Ballet this past winter and guested at SFB and has now joined their roster. She gave a striking performance on Tuesday in IBSEN'S HOUSE. I hope you get to see the City Center performances in the next two days and that you thoroughly enjoy them and Sofiane's dancing.
I should add that SFB is literally brimming over with superb dancers and I'm betting you will find many of them to your liking.
