Getting ready to go to Damian Woetzel's farewell performance at New York City Ballet this evening, I was remembering that I had first seen him in the mid-1980s at Jacob's Pillow. I rummaged thru my old programmes and found these from 1986 and 1987. Note some other very interesting names involved in the performances. Click the panels to enlarge for easier reading.
Alexia Hess is my former teacher! I studied with her from age 13 to the time I graduated from high school. And actually I just saw her on Sunday at my sister's dance recital. She now teaches in NJ and is doing very well. It's so nice to see her name in old programs.

How funny it seems to see other names on our NYCB roster! I suppose they do turn around a whole new generation of dancers every few years....still, it looks odd!

I'll have to pull out my diaries and see what I wrote about Alexia Hess at the time...I must have liked her since I put two stars next to her name!

I cried (softly so I wouldn't disturb my seat
mates) the whole tame. I also finally talked to Wendy! As you said -- she's the best!
