Laura

I was there last night and could not get over how gorgeous Sara Mearns is! She has such a presence on stage and such a luminious quality to her dancing. She really did command the stage. Bravo for such a successful debut!!

Hi Laura, I agree that Sara's DIAMONDS was one of those revelations that come along from time to time. We were fortunate to have seen it!

Evan

Wow, it sounds like Diamonds might become a signature role for Sara! I'm sad I missed such a remarkable performance.

Evan, incredibly it seems they only gave her one performance this season; but she should be dancing it for years to come.

Ariel

I'm so jealous, this review was so well written!

philip

Ariel, I wish you could have been there...

Bob

Sorry I missed this one but you can't get to everything.

Bob, famed NY opera fan Lois Kirschenbaum once famously stated: "You cannot go to every performance!" However I cannot recall a single Met performance I've attended over the past 40 years when Lois wasn't there.

As frequently as I go to City Ballet I know there are people who are there even more often than I am.

James Wolcott has two positive write ups too:

Thank you for the links, Dust Puppy...it looks like James W and Mary Cargill were as thrilled with Sara's DIAMONDS as I was.
