So nice to hear from another Pilou admirer!

The last time i saw Jeanette Pilou was a few days ago in the Simon Boccanegra opening night in Athens. She still is very beatiful and elegant! Renata Scotto was there too and during the reception they made fotos together. I would be glad to send you some....And madame Pilou will also be glad to read what you ve written above...

Dear Parsifal, thank you for the comment...how envious I am to read that you have seen Jeannette Pilou so recently! Yes, I would be very happy to see your photos and will send you an e-mail so we can stay in touch. Thank you!

I saw Jeanette Pilou sing Marguerite in "Faust" in 1979 and I thought she was wonderful. She was definitely the best thing I remember of that performance of thirty years ago.

I heard of her for the first time in my life today, from musicologist Gualerzi, who recommended me to interview her too for a planned book on artists who loved Puccini. There will be 100 interviews (in case of non living artists as Mafalda Favero by her daughter...). So I found out immediately where she lives, very close to where the other great and forgotten soprano lives, Maria Luisa Gavioli....
Can anyone tell me where Cesare Siepi lives?

After I sent the previous message, I talked shortly on phone with Cesare Siepi, living in Alabama, not available for an interview. And interviewed Antonietta Stella, Franco Ferrara via a former student, Tito Schipa Jr who have me 31 CD's with his father voice, the beautiful Franca Fabbri, the young coloratura Maria Laura Martorana who reaches two notes after the high note in Regina della Notte...Pilou is back to Milano but now ill...

Soprano Pilou is now in Athens. I was able to interview her anyway for the book to appear shortly, which will feature even.... Licia Albanese. Jeannette was kind to send me a picture where she looks incredibly beautiful. Thanks very much, soprano!

This is a wonderful page! I just discovered Pilou a little while ago and these recollections are just fantastic to read. Thank you so much for your memories!
