It seems that Amanda was never destined to be a soloist or principal dancer in the company but she was without question always a wonderful corps dancer. One of my fondest memories of her at City Ballet was not onstage but having the opportunity to see her teach a ballet class at the New York State Summer School of the Arts at Saratoga Springs during City Ballet's residence there. She wore a simple dress, looked beautiful, and seemed to be an excellent teacher. Later that evening, she performed a demi-soloist role in one of the ballets and her students who were in the audience that night gave her a rousing ovation both when she came onstage and at the end of her performance. Like so many others before her, she will be missed. But it's good to know that she is still very active in dance.

Like many wonderful dancers, Edge danced soloist roles at NYCB regularly for years but they never gave her the designation.

Amanda is a wonderful dancer, and a beauty. I was elated to see Aesha Ash with the Wheeldon company. Another major NYCB loss.

Yes, Aesha was certainly dancing superbly at City Center...
