" at what point does a vibrato become a wobble? "

Let us not forget Callas. I have no need to see Butterfly since she ripped out my soul with the first three words of her "Io senza dar risposta
me ne starò nascosta
un po' per celia
e un po' per non morire...."

My late Japanese friend Mrs. Harada used to say, when we talked about singers: "We can't discuss Callas when discussing other singers. She was in a class by herself. If you talk about Callas, she becomes the entire conversation."

The Callas Butterfly is so richly detailed; amazing she only sang it 3 or 4 times onstage.
