Here are some images from Kokyat of John-Mark Owen's profoundly beautiful three-part pas de deux entitled TRIPTYCH, which traces an evolving romantic relationship from first encounter to final parting. The dancers are Ramona Kelly and Adrian Silver; their performance on January 9th, 2010 at City Center studio was thoroughly engrossing both visually and emotionally. This is one of the most appealing and satisfying dance partnerships I've ever seen - and I've seen everyone.

John-Mark's choreography is physically taxing yet Ramona and Adrian made it all so seamless and fluid that one almost forgot about technique and just became absorbed in the expressiveness of their dancing. Using music with a sacred quality in the outer movements drew a spiritual response from the dancers which transmitted itself to the viewer.
The images below will enlarge with a click.
Adrian and Ramona take a bow after dancing TRIPTYCH. Thanks to John-Mark for having allowed us to watch the early stages of development of this work, and to Ramona and Adrian for an unforgettable performance.
