AIDS WALK NY 2008

AidswalkSunday May 18, 2008 - Ashley Bouder, Sara Mearns and Philip Neal came over to Central Park bright and early this morning to give the New York City Ballet team a send-off on the ten-kilometre AIDS WALK 2008. We set out early on an overcast, coolish day (perfect for walking) and finished the Walk in 2 hours, 15 minutes. Gallantly led by the intrepid pooch Harper who set the pace all the way, we went up thru Central Park from 59th Street & 5th Avenue to 125th then over to West End Avenue, down to the 70s and back over into the Park to the finish line. Fueled by water and snacks donated by generous sponsors and cheered on by an enthusiastic international collection of volunteers along the route, it was lots of fun. I came home, popped a couple of Aleeve and feel pretty good.

I want to thank the people who so kindly donated to the Cause: Helene, Deborah, Hunter & Lola, Monica, Ginny, Big Daddy & MJN, my sister Linda and my 'anonymous' friend.

The added attraction: 2 hours worth of NYCB gossip! Want to know what we were talking about? Join the Team next year and find out!

Oh I forgot all about this! I'm glad you went! Were there any other bloggers there?

I did not see anyone I knew. There were thousands of people and our team went off walking before the official start time, so anyone who arrived after 9:15 I would have missed them.

tell us some of the gossip! any new couple alerts?

LOL...couples were discussed but mostly they are the ones who have been together for a long time.
